New Year and Holiday Hobby

I’ve hit a bit of a stride recently after a fairly hobby-lite December. I managed to sell my Epic Tau army to a guy in the states for a pretty tidy sum and used the proceeds to buy a few bits and pieces - chiefly some proper MDF terrain which is something I’ve wanted to get for a while.

In the end I went with TT Combat because they had what I was after at a good price, I’ve also dealt with them a fair bit so I know what I’m getting into. I ordered three different sorts of terrain; some fantasy houses and scenics for Warhammer and LOTR, some Gothic ruins for 40k and some more generic sci-fi for use in all manner of things.

I managed to get a few games of LOTR in recently, the release of the new Battle Companies supplement has reignited enthusiasm at the club and a few more people are keen to get involved. I got pasted with a Gondor warband in our Friday Christmas event at the local club but it was fun never the less. I have been working on painting up my Mordor warband, I’ve finished half of them and have ordered a Mordor Troll to compliment the army after my mate’s Dwarves battered them into nothingness last week.

On the subject of painting I’m going to have a go at the 365 minis challenge this year. I’m not sure I’ll get 365 done but I’m going to at least give it a try. It’s the 16th today and I’ve actually done 18 models with another 5 nearly done so I’m off to a good start!

Pictures to follow.

Happy new hobby year everyone.
